Sports Documentaries

RDA works with exceptional production companies from around the world, providing media platforms and broadcasters and their audiences with the narrative and insight behind some of sports’ most dramatic stories. RDA’s sports documentaries catalogue includes:

Once Were Lions is a journey into the rich political and sporting history of Rugby League - a game born out of class difference. Filmed during the 2019 Great Britain Rugby League Lions Tour to New Zealand and Papua New Guinea - the unfolding narrative of one of the UK’s oldest national teams, and one which is fighting for relevance in an increasingly competitive international sporting landscape. Commissioned by the BBC, Once Were Lions is a portrait of both a sport and a section of society, who have been relegated from the mainstream to the margins.
